Official Lan Rules
« on: June 19, 2009, 08:32:31 PM »
General rules:
Randlan shall not accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by you or any other participant entering the event.
Randlan has a 0 intoxication policy, no alcohol is to be brought to, or consumed at the lan.
Attendees of the LAN may not be intoxicated, if you are intoxicated you will be thrown out, if you cause trouble the police will be called, no exceptions.

Keep an eye on your gear at all times and if something goes missing please report it to an admin.
If something is stolen the Police will be contacted.

Upon entry you may be asked for your name and contact details and you will also need the folowing:
Name + parent/guardian phone number(this does not make us cheap baby sitters if your child causes problems we will contact the guardian and if need be in the early hours of the morning  Tongue, over 18' only need a name.

$10 per person - there is a no loitering rule. If people are staying, they are paying.
All payments are non refundable.
Girls who are lanning get in free. We need to encourage them to come along.

If its not yours, dont touch it. This applies to everything, food, drinks, networking equipment - disobeying this WILL get you kicked out. And possibly in the face.
No screens over 32" without prior consent. Consent is unlikely.
No speakers - this includes ones built into monitors, cases, and laptops. just NO.
No porn/nudity. This includes desktop backgrounds. Its immoral if children are present, and it scares away the girl gamers. Trust me, you want the girl gamers to stay.

Network Rules:
Illegal file sharing: This is not allowed. It is physically impossible to monitor all network activity due to large amounts of legal network transfers at such events however we ask that you do not participate in illegal activity at the LANs.

No touching network equipment that doesn't belong to you. Even if cables are provided for you, that only allows you to plug it in - no more than that. You are not authorised to alter, adjust, or relocate any cables or switches.

Seating:
Normally seats are given as you come in, because of tournaments we MAY ask you to relocated in order to keep teams near each other and prevent 'screen cheats' from looking at other team members monitors (in todays age of 22" and larger screens, this is a serious problem.)

Team Comps:
Again, normally people are allowed to choose their own team mates. Depending on how things go, we MAY arrange teams ourselves in order to keep the LAN competitive. Teams will consist of 4 people.
